| Hi, I am a transfer from MSN, I hope no one holds that against as I offer my suggestions. I think this will be a great place if the number of logins is reduced substatially. Couldn't you just have several different kinds of cookies for the way the site is organized, thus saving tons of time and bandwidth. I understand the difficulty that can be introduced by importing another database's data, especially on primary keys if the FormatRules are different. Excluding dashes and Understrikes from username choices is a great idea, until you can't use it to filter the new additions. The whole sequence of initial screens has confused the **** out of me. I've grown lazy over the years. Having to look at persistant text with minor changes is hard when you are used to seeing only stuff that can be ignored in toto, and sepreate from the two or three items on a page that are actually relevant to the current transaction. I made the mistake of registering here first, and getting my login rejected when I tried to access my transferred groups. Now that the system recognizes my login name I tried to reduce my holdings to a single login name and ended up with yet another one that can occasionally get to a list of my groups but at the group I am in the This is a members only area , and the circle dane starts over. What I'd like to see is an easy way to clear whatever is attached to my eMail address and restart::tosomething that remembers my password better than I can. If there is a feature that can remember all of the groups I belong to from my old environment, why can't that feature be attached to my login for those groups [there is only one::LoginName] so far I have been able to access only one of those groups and that was after fiddling around on pages that treated me like an ugly stepchild, and every time my page information was updated I ended up on a page that showed me how much incorrectly sized stuff I could have access to if I joined world forums. /  ear [your name here] sir; if this bill has reached you after you have mailed the check ignore it.Ignoring this notice can result in the immediate discontinuance of all pending transactions.:/ I get to a point where one begins wondering how eager one is to get to groups which have been dumped out onto the highway by the very people that needed the initial user base to make the highway wide enough not to require traffic control lights. I think that any place that is willing to host an incredibly diverse group of outcast groups is certainly someone worth defending in the growing attack on first and other ammendment issues, so I hope I can get my trivial stuff solved to make it easier to see what's happening here too! Please understand that to me: TestForum :means simply that some one is making sure the board works as promised by the vendor. So if anyone reads this, share my joy at having a place like WorldFforums/BestForums. |

| I'm a bit confused What "groups" are you talking about? Importing another database's data? Different kinds of cookies? Reducing number of logins? I hope this was just a test post Otherwise I really don't know what you mean. Anyway, this forum is not visible in any search engine yet, I've only told a couple of my friends about it (and so far only one - hidden - forum was created here). If anybody could spread the word, I'd appreciate that! I really need links from other sites so that google can find me |
